The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, Epilogue
by Moises Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project
Oct. 12, 2009 at 7:30pm
Newmark Theater PCPA on 1111 SW Broadway.

Directed by Stan Foote and narrated by Byron Beck

This groundbreaking play explores how Matthew Shepard’s murder is still affecting the town of Laramie, Wyo. 10 years later and shows how people can construct their own history. This is a one night event, taking place in over 120 theaters nationwide on the eleventh anniversary of Matthew's death. The show begins with a video introduction by Moises Kaufman (playwright), Judy Shepard (Matthew's mother) and Glenn Close (actress), who will be performing the Epilogue in NYC.

The Portland premiere will include some of Portland's most prominent artistic directors and theatre veterans including: Allen Nause (ART), Scott Yarbrough and Chris Murray (Third Rail Repertory), Dan Murphy (Broadway Rose), Rose Riordan (PCS), Paul Glazier (JAW), Sharonlee McLean (PCS & Coho), Troy Lakey (Key Productions), Kelley Marchant (NCP), Helen Raptis (KATU) and Kathleen Cafiero.

Troy is very proud to be involved with this project, especially with the Matthew Shepard Bill on President Obama's desk - after passing the House and Senate. This story is still relevent and is still playing out all over the country as we struggle for equal rights and protections.
