What are people saying?
"Key Productions does a terrific job with William M. Hoffman’s Tony-nominated 1985 play about the AIDS epidemic in America. If this work is dated, then stories about suffering, selflessness and the power of a community to save itself are no longer meaningful. Great performances by Michael Teufel, David Berkson and a fine supporting cast, with sure direction by Michael Mendelson." – Portland Tribune

"As Is, from newish, gay-themed theater company Key Productions, does a fine job communicating the panic and uncertainty of those early days, as well as the desperate, against-all-odds compassion and courage of those who struggled to understand and fight the disease. As Is reads today as an argument for basic human kindness, a testament to the bravery that treating others like human beings sometimes requires. It's a solid show, and it bodes well for future work from Key." – Portland Mercury

"It’s a pretty good production, well-cast and competently acted throughout…certainly above average for Portland, and it’s further proof that Lakey means business." – Willamette Week

"Seeing this show on Saturday night was a distinct privilege! One of the best ensembles I've seen on a Portland stage in quite a while. There was not a weak link and the emotion was not overplayed! Great direction and straight forward, in the moment, performances. I wish there was more of this on some Portland stages! Great job Key Productions!" – FollowSpot

"For me it's not about being gay-themed theatre: it's just theatre and it's magnificent. It's clear that director Mendelson knows this show, and he pulled performances from his actors that I'll remember for a long time. Key Productions has succeeded handsomely." – PDX Backstage

"Very provacative show! Fantastic acting!" – JW Audience Member
